The 2022 Grand Design Awards hosted by ZCOOL successfully concluded recently. Mr.Bin® stood out among thousands of entries with its “E-commerce Brand Upgrade” project, earning the 2022 Grand Design Award – Excellence in Interaction Design.

Positioned as a new-generation premium home trash bin, Mr.Bin® focuses on both household and smart trash bins, treating the product as an important visual element within home spaces rather than a mere functional object. Built on a foundation of light-luxury aesthetics, the brand integrates smart and eco-friendly technologies with modern lifestyles, aiming to provide new-generation families with home products that are both practical and visually appealing. By transforming the trash bin into a “beautifying element” in the home, Mr.Bin® redefines the value of one of the most overlooked yet frequently used everyday items.
For this brand experience upgrade, the LML design Studio started from the product’s inherent character, redefining its super-symbols, core values, and visual system to create a highly recognizable and communicative brand identity. Through systematic brand design guidelines, functional attributes were transformed into emotional value, upgrading the brand from a single-product output to a comprehensive lifestyle expression. This approach helps Mr.Bin® establish distinctive and sustainable brand recall in a highly homogenized home goods market.

On the visual front, the logo design centers on a “cool + playful + quirky” anthropomorphic motif, giving the brand a personality that is both memorable and shareable. The typography structure was redesigned in reference to the product’s shape and contours, ensuring that the graphic language aligns closely with the product’s character. This balance of professionalism, quality, and youthful, trend-setting appeal positions Mr.Bin® as a forward-thinking home brand with both design attitude and social media resonance.
